The Supervisor, Customer Care Accounts Receivable (A/R) coordinates and supervises activities of A/R Agents engaged in the collection of delinquent accounts and ensure all work is performed timely, accurately, and efficiently.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the processing and verification of applications for credit and solicitation of payment on overdue accounts utilizing best in class practices
  • Review and manage all accounts with Collection Agents and establishes productivity objectives and strategies
  • Review work and monitor phone calls to verify adherence to standard operating procedures, as well as, state and federal collections law requirements
  • Identify and correct problems or errors in the collection system or procedures
  • Handle escalated calls from A/R Agents and may initiate calls
  • Control final procedures for bad debt write-offs and attempt to bring them out of default status or recommend the accounts to the A/R Manager if deemed uncollectible
  • Write delinquency letters, notifications, and approves forms for use in the collection process
  • Work interactively with legal representatives, court administrators, and management;authorizes accounts for legal action
  • Keep accurate data of all accounts assigned to the A/R Department
  • Create analysis and projections of data collection for daily and monthly reports for the A/R Management staff
  • Effectively communicate the department’s objectives on a regular basis
  • Motivate and create a positive work environment to achieve productivity and performance standards
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and five years of experience or equivalent education and related experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Extensive skip tracing and asset location experience
  • Knowledge of Consumer and Collection Law
  • Strong communication skills – written, verbal, persuasion, motivation, facilitation of strong working relationships
  • Knowledge of other MS Office Suite and/or software applications related to job functions
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service, analytical/problem solving, problem management, presentation development, presentation, and communications skills

Physical Demands

  • Physical demands include a considerable amount of time sitting and typing/keyboarding, using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor) or adding machine
  • Physical demands with activity or condition may occasionally include walking, bending, reaching, standing, and stooping
  • May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 20lbs
