Duties

  • Examines and compares merchandise with original requisition to record information such as quantity, type of defects, and date on invoice or other forms.
  • Prepares invoices and other forms for all returned goods.
  • Types letters or information on records to explain reason for returned goods.
  • Compiles and files list of merchandise handled.
  • Ships merchandise back to manufacturer on designated schedule.
  • Research history of item as necessary.
  • Consult vendors for return policy and procedures.
  • Consult with sales reps on non-credit items.
  • Perform warehouse generalist duties as required.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability:

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Must have strong phone communication and customer service skills for both internal and external customers.

Math Ability:

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word and ability to learn MasterPack.
